Join us this week as our special guests, Alan, Nick, & Fode, sit with us to roast & commentate on our Sept in-school mini-tournament. Also enjoy the wacky discussion and possibly longest ever sign-off in podcasting history. Poor Nick, his headset kept cutting out – so for extra special pleasure, you can WATCH this week’s episode on YouTube!
Once again we were honored to be at San Diego Maker Faire, this year at the forthcoming Comic-Con Museum, so we brought the podcasting kit and sat down to talk about the experience! It's such a long, wonderful two days interacting with a ton of people, families, kids, talking about lightsaber training, building your own, and giving everyone a chance to try it out themselves!
It’s that time once again – volume 4 of our Swords & Sabers series! This episode we have Fode from Star-B-Q, Master Alan from Phoenix Sabers, Nick from Penguin Saber Academy, Keith from Hawaii Saber Academy, and of course Battlemaster Eric of San Diego Sabers! They take another deep dive into the various real-world-based forms, formats, philosophies, and mental approaches that make up what we call Saber Martial Arts.
With Solo now in our homes, Steve & Loring sit down with Mike Moriarty from Home One Hangout to talk through this latest Star Wars film, the things we like, might have changed, the fan service, the dice, and the capes!
Jar-Jar Tongue Candy invades the main show this week! He sticks his tongue out at everyone while we’re talking about what’s coming up in the realm of Star Wars. Steve also talks about taking his first steps into building his own saber.
This week we turn the spotlight on our newest knight (he didn't go Sith afterall!), and co-founder of SDS, Robert! Learn all about his martial lightsaber journey over the last 2.5 years!
Things got busy this last month, but Doug, Loring, and Marina are back! This week they discuss the toys and merchandise which influenced their love of Star Wars. And it doesn’t take long for it to go off the rails. If you’ve listened before, none of this should surprise you. So buckle up, prepare to laugh, and love you some Star Wars!
Oh what a strange place this universe is. In fact, so strange, that we’re going to cross multiple universeseses – or universii – this week. We engage in some Death Matches this week – pitting Star Wars characters against both Marvel & DC characters! It’s stranger than fiction – oh, actually, it is fiction – but it’s fun and strange nonetheless!
This is the first time we’ve done a commentary (or “roast”) of one of our tournaments! We bring the MainMen(tm) from Star-B-Q, Fode & Beed, to help roast our 25th July mini-tournament. We discuss how the player fight, the pros & cons of moves, and random stuff in between! It’s always fun having these guys on the show!! And there's a fair bit of Star Wars rambling, too (as we do)
This last weekend, some of us got together to play games. It didn't take long for people to want to record one of the games and turn it into the podcast for today. So we recorded us playing the "Star Wars Headband" game. Turn in and check it out. It was such a blast!
